There is hardly anyone who does not sigh on the adventure called skiing. The adrenaline, the beautiful sights, and the feeling of loading this sport are certainly unmatched. If you are a beginner and your first ski vacation is coming, see some practical tips …

Tip 1 – Equipment

The equipment is very important. Never underestimate the mountain. Proper clothing is something that can protect you from serious injuries and injuries. Sure you do not ski with a leather jacket or jeans – it’s a winter sport! Get the following things:

  • ski pants
  • polarized outerwear
  • ski jacket – waterproof and breathable fabric
  • thermo ski socks
  • membrane gloves
  • ski mask
  • Ski helmet

Our advice is, if you rarely go to the mountains and do not plan to ski frequently, not invest a lot of money in equipment (traditionally specialized equipment for every sport is expensive). Fortunately, there are already a number of brands in the market to offer budget and effective solutions for beginner skiers.

We accidentally missed our skate shoes. They are actually the most important of the equipment, but here you have to decide how many times you will ski. If your vacation is longer, it is better to buy ski shoes that you must measure and make sure you fit. If you just try, ski boots can be hired.

If you are an absolute beginner, the better option is to rent skis to try out the experience yourself. Of course, you can always buy, but in general our advice is until you are fully aware of your style of driving, not investing serious money in ski and snowboard machines. Absolutely the same applies to the sticks – they are just consumables.

If you have to summarize, it is most important not to underestimate your ski equipment because it can protect you from possible accidents or frost.

Tip 2 – Winter sports do not end with skis

Certainly the first attempts will not be very successful. But this should not spoil your vacation! Still, you are a winter resort, and there are no less fun than the summer resorts. A nice company, warm tea, mulled wine are all things that will raise your spirit. And with every ride you will get better!

Tip 3 – Understand the safety rules

Perhaps this was advice # 1 … However, the most important thing to remember here is to drive according to your possibilities! Treat yourself with respect and attention to other people on the track and remember that you must keep everyone in front of you.

Tip 4 – Respecting the mountain

As it may be pleasant, warm and relaxed, the mountain often shows its character abrupt and unpredictable. Do not leave the designated areas, especially if the weather is softer and the snow is fresher. Get to know the early weather forecast. As an important part of the mountain, skiing is something to respect with respect. If you are not convinced exactly how things are happening, you better trust a skier who will teach you the basic sophistication and rules you will really enjoy enjoying your skiing holiday!

Tip 5 – Perfect Destination?

Choosing a location for your ski vacation is definitely quite important. St. Ivan Ski Complex is situated at the foot of the Pirin Mountain and next to the town of Bansko – an area that boasts some of the best ski slopes in the Balkans. Apart from pleasantly furnished apartments in which you will feel at home, the complex reveals a wonderful view, has its own restaurant and provides the possibility to transport from and to the initial station of the ski lift.
